Rajan Solanki was one who brought smiles to everyone’s faces. He was one who dreamt and followed those dreams till he achieved them. The founder and CEO of pikachakula.com and burp.co.ke, hot new websites that have helped, taught and entertained thousands of people around the world. The master mind behind jikoni.co.ke, he made a successful young career as a website developer while working as a manager in the family business at C&R Food Industries Ltd. Rajan’s active lifestyle led him to be the founder of Rajan Blood Bank Kenya working from bloodbank.co.ke, actively bringing families in need and volunteering blood donors together as a free service to the society. His websites and dreams attached to them are now being followed by his beloved sister Chandni.

A little look at the remarkable history of Rajan Solanki and the events in his life that molded him to be the person he was. Rajan schooled in S.C.L.P.Samaj School and thereafter in Nairobi South Preparatory School, further completing his A Levels in Notre Dame School. Whichever school Rajan went to, he made dozens of friends because of his joyful and carefree nature. People loved his easy going attitude towards life during his Advance diploma in Computing that he pursued from Intel College. His passion for food showed from a very early age when he started his very own café known as Bunnie Bakers at the age of 18. He had a very entrepreneurial brain and a fantastic taste for food, a promising personality who could have done even greater things if he had the chance.

A heart stopping phone call on the 21st of September 2013 was the last his mother heard from him. He was calling from the parking area of the West Gate shopping mall, where a cooking competition was being held for children. To his mothers shock, she could here gunshots in the background as Rajan’s frightened voice told her there was firing going on in the place. A few seconds later, all Mrs Solanki could hear on the other side of the phone was gunshots and grenades. A loved one was taken away in senseless killing. All the memories stopped in their path. A mother’s only son taken away! A father’s supporting wall was broken down! A sisters role model now silenced and a young girls fiancé snatched before they could begin their happily ever after!

Rajan Solanki left wonderful memories deep inside the hearts of those close to him. His family, friends, relatives and his fiancée will miss him deeply and they mourn his absence but not his passing! This is because they know that he rests peacefully in the arms of God’s angels watching over all of them.
